Weekly homework tasks:

 - Daily reading at home (home reading book) to an adult

 - Spellings (tested weekly)

 - TT Rockstars

 - Half termly learning log (this will be linked to the themes for the half term)

Daily reading: Your child will receive a home reading book and record. Please hear your child read at home on a regular basis (ideally 5-10 minutes every day) and sign their reading record. When your child has finished their book, they need to hand it in to Miss Mitchell or Mrs Layfield who will change it.

Spellings: We use the No Nonsense Spelling scheme in school. We will be learning words in class that follow a particular pattern/rule. These words, along with a range of others, including Year 5 and 6 statutory words will be tested each week on a Friday. The words and test dates for each week are in the spelling booklets which have been sent home. A copy can also be found on this page.

TT Rockstars / times tables: Please encourage your child to learn all of the times tables (up to 12x12) and their related division facts. This will help your child in several aspects of mathematics. All children have been give a login for Times Table Rock Stars but please feel free to practise in whichever way you feel suits your child.

Half-termly learning log: A 'learning log' will be set each half term. This will be a project or piece of work for the children to complete at home. If you wish to help them and be involved, that's great! Alternatively, the children can complete it independently. It will be sent home in the first week or two of the half term. Children can now upload their completed learning logs onto Seesaw rather than bringing them into school.

PE times/kit

In Year 6, P.E. is on Thursday and Friday. Please ensure your child has a full kit in school.

P.E. kit (indoor): Black/navy shorts, white t-shirt and black pumps.

Outdoor kit (optional): Black/navy tracksuit/long sleeved top and bottoms, trainers and socks.

All clothing and footwear should be clearly named. All jewellery must be removed for P.E. and long hair must be tied back.

Useful documents:

Welcome to the last week of year 6!

Have a look on the home learning section for this week's topic of Music! I can't wait to see any of you who are coming tomorrow!

Good morning!

I would like you to access more of the transition information today please - you can use the transition booklets on our website or go to your high school website and look at any activities.

Good morning!

This week our theme is Around the World.  Focus on that and have a great week!

Good morning year 6!

I apologise for the slightly late update! I have uploaded the new learning file, called Famous and Significant People.  There is also a pdf at the top of the page with information about the leavers service which is tomorrow morning!

Good morning!

Today I would like you to continue with Robin Hood MAT projects.  If you get chance, do a topic lesson and I would definitely like you to do at least one quiz on Read Theory please.  Have a great day and keep wishing for the nice weather to come back - it's supposed to rain today!

Today I would like you to continue with the Rainforest theme.  Look at Wednesday's activities. Yesterday in class, the children made picture frames with their favourite memories in and decorated them.  That might be something you would like to do.  Also have a look at our class worship and try and answer the questions.

Good morning!

Keep following the rainforest topic today! Could you take a look at the RE resources in home learning and complete the questions on page 16 about the picture on page 15.  I will also be uploading our class worship presentation later today!

Happy Monday!

I have put on this week's Robin Hood MAT resources (Rainforest) for you to be getting on with!  I hope you have had a good weekend, keep checking back for updates throughout the week. Have a great day!

Good morning!

How is it already Thursday? I don't know about you but this week seems to be flying by! Carry on with the Robin Hood MAT (Sport) today please! I would also like you to have a go at the RE resource I have just put on.  Do page 7 and 8 please.  The picture is on page 7 and the questions are on page 8.  Have a great day!

I hope you are all okay after the thunder storm last night! Have a look at Wednesday's tasks on the Sport.pdf document.  I would also like you to do the Science Home Learning task today please - Lesson 6 if you have done the others. Finally, look at the transition documents and do an activity or two out of there. Have a great day!

Good morning!

This week our theme is Sport so you have got a new learning project in the Home Learning tab above.  If you click on the sport document, it is broken down into days so today you should start with Monday's reading, spelling, writing and maths tasks.  There are also learning projects at the bottom of the document which you can do throughout the week! I hope you have a good day, try to get out for some fresh air this morning as the weather isn't supposed to be great this afternoon!

Good morning!

Hope you are all okay! Continue to work on the 'Under the Sea' tasks, today I would also like you to try to do the Science learning.  Week 5 has been put on this week, but if you haven't done the previous lessons, do one of those! You can find all of that in the Revision and Home Learning section above.  Have a great day!

Good evening! I'd like to apologise for the lack of clarity with work.  It was decided that after half term work would be put onto our class pages rather than Google Classroom and so that is what I have been doing.  In doing that I have tried to "modernise" our page which I now realise makes it slightly more confusing.  I will be posting updates on here a couple of times per week but throughout the week you should be following the Robin Hood MAT project which is called "Under the Sea".  There is a link to this in the home learning section above.  I have also removed the unnecessary pages to make it clearer. The SATs page no longer applies to you unless you still want to do SATs revision! The Transition section has a load of activities that will help to make moving to high school easier!

Good morning Year 6! I hope you are all well! You might have noticed that our class page has been rearranged slightly - hopefully it's more organised now! I have added the most recent learning and if you follow the days that are suggested in the Under the Sea document.  The Bitesize, Oak Academy and Read Theory are all extras to do. I have also added a transition area which has all the activities that you can be doing to prepare yourself for high school.  Have a look and do the ones that you think will be most beneficial for you, don't get overfaced with the quantity of work! Like I say, we hope you are all well.
