Welcome
‘Learn, Grow and Achieve together through God’s Love’
A very warm welcome from the Headteacher
On behalf of our school family I would like to welcome you to our school website. It is an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be the Headteacher of St Stephen’s Church of England VA Primary School. Our school is situated in Burnley next to Towneley Park and only a short distance away from Turf Moor. We are blessed to have extensive grounds and far reaching views which allows for outdoor learning opportunities. We are very proud of our forest school, worship garden, prayer wall and our sporting arena. The children and staff make full use of these areas of provision.
This is a Church school where our Christian values sit at the heart of everything we do. We have strong links with St Stephen’s Church and we are fortunate that we only have a 5 minute walk to enjoy worship there on a regular basis. We strive to ensure that our Christian ethos permeates all areas of school life as we live out our Christian values daily.
Our curriculum covers the national curriculum but we have designed it so that our children receive engaging learning experiences that are bespoke to their needs. It is creative and allows children the opportunity to be curious and independent whilst fostering their love of learning.
St Stephen’s is a place where all children regardless of their background are nurtured and where children are inspired to grow a passion for lifelong learning. We strive to ensure that children reach their full potential in order to contribute to a better global society as responsible and productive citizens. It is our aim to ensure that children develop their self- esteem and confidence through opportunities to develop spiritually, socially and emotionally. We like to reward achievements on all levels and at every opportunity.
We build and maintain strong partnerships with the community and our newly constructed extension and supportive pastoral team will provide many opportunities for children and families to access additional help and support.
We pride ourselves on having a strong sense of faith and community. We enjoy a whole range of extra-curricular activities and support many charities. Our staff and governors are very committed and strive to provide the very best education for all children in order to grow learners which will flourish in God’s love.
Enjoy taking a look around our website and please don’t forget to have a look at the virtual tour so you can meet the staff.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, if I can be of any help or if you just want to introduce yourself.
