'Learn, Grow and Achieve Together Through God's Love'
We have set up a 'Home Learning' page under the 'Key Information' tab. This will provide more information for you about how to access a quality education for your children at home. Please remember to check your child's class page under the 'Children' tab for regular updates from your classteacher. Please collect a paper pack if you cannot access technology. If you would like more information please phone the DFE coronavirus helpline 0800 046 8687 or visit the full government guidance at:

Reading and Phonics
At St. Stephen's we teach reading using the Oxford Reading scheme and Phonics Bug. In guided reading we use the Big Cats scheme.
We teach daily phonics sessions based on the Letters and Sound scheme. Children will bring their reading book and record home every night. Regular reading and discussion about what they are reading is really important. Reading to your child and talking to them about stories and books is also extremely beneficial.
Please feel free to comment in their reading records as it is an ideal way of communicating with school.
