Please remember to check your child's class page under the 'Children' tab for regular updates from your classteacher. Please collect a paper pack if you cannot access technology. Sequencing and Chronology in Reception
Sequencing and Chronology in Reception is done very differently to the National Curriculum and this is mainly because it is based around areas of learning and not stand-alone subjects.
As we begin each half term, we always ‘map out’ the skills that we need to teach in each of the areas and carefully plan how we will do this; taking into account our topics and themes.
However, as the half term progresses, we may discover that the children’s learning takes us in a completely different direction! We would therefore embrace this as a team and ensure that our skills from Development Matters were taught in the most effective way for the needs of our particular group of children.
This ensures that our children have opportunities to be engaged in an exciting curriculum with experiences that translate into what they are interested in and what their next steps are.
