Year 1
Welcome back to school
and
welcome to Year 1!
Please read through our class pages for information that you will need for Year 1 from September 2024.
Easter half term
Happy Easter!
Over the Easter holidays please continue to practise spellings from the booklet. We're concentrating on Phase 2, 3 and 4 tricky words and common exception words for Year 1.
Please can you also read regularly. It can be any type of book or story, not just your reading book! Remember to fill in the reading rewards chart every time you read and write a comment in the book too. This means you will get to a reward even sooner!
Most of all, remember to have fun and be safe! We pray that weather is good and we can get out and about to find Spring plants and watch how they're growing and changing, like in our Science topic.
See you on the 15th April :-)
It's a snow day! Hope you're all tucked up warm and dry!
But here's some activities ideas that you might like to try!

I'll be popping some work on here too, but that is optional. We'd love to see pictures of your snow day, send them over on Seesaw or to the school email address
Here's a short video about how you can be a weather watcher!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo8lbeVVb4M
We were learning about changes in the seasons in Spring 1 and the children have become really keen on the daily temperature and checking the weather.
Can you record the weather today? What was it like this morning? What will it be like this afternoon? Ask to find out what the temperature is today!
