Learning Project for 30th March
Home Learning for Reception- Week Commencing 30th March 2020
Hello Reception!
I hope that you have had a good first week of home learning. I noticed a few photographs had been emailed through; showing some of your fantastic learning from home. I loved looking at these and have added them under a separate section of the website entitled 'Home Learning'. Make sure you take a look and if you have any photographs from this week to send through, then please feel free to do so.
As a reminder, the email for photographs of home learning is:

Your second Learning Project is available from the following link:
https://www.robinhoodmat.co.uk/learning-projects/
We have the permission of Robin Hood MAT and we are very grateful to them; thank you.
You will need to click on EYFS and Week 2. This will enable you to see this week's work.
You will notice that the Learning Project Theme is 'The Area you Live in', which has lots of exciting activities to complete at home. There are weekly Maths and Reading/Writing Tasks alongside Phonics. In addition, there are Learning Projects to enjoy together.
Maths
You will notice that under the Maths Section of the Learning Project, it refers to a NumBots Login. You should each have received these last week via text message but if you are unsure, please let us know at school and we will help.
NumBots is an exciting new interactive Maths App that can be accessed via iPad or computer. You can have fun with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, number recognition, subtraction etc. Try to have fun exploring the different activities within the App this week.
The Learning Project also refers to watching a daily Numberblocks clip. We have used Numberblocks in class so your child should be familiar with this. There are many clips to choose from so have a look through and enjoy together.
ICT
Your child also has access to iCompute and again you will have received an individual login. This provides access with to the Computing Curriculum from home.
Phonics and Reading
These sections of the Learning Project refer to practising the sounds and tricky words that your child is currently working on.
I have provided an attachment below so that you know what these are and can continue with these at home if you wish. You may like to encourage your child to practise both reading and spelling the tricky words.
We have also been naming the letters of the alphabet- the ABC song is fantastic for this. You could also encourage your child to recognise capital letters- can they match them to the lowercase and give both the letter name and the sound it makes?
Daily Updates
I will provide a Daily Update for you via the Class Page and this will have an additional Home Learning Challenge that you may wish to complete.
Have fun!
Mrs. Powell
