'Learn, Grow and Achieve Together Through God's Love'
We have set up a 'Home Learning' page under the 'Key Information' tab. This will provide more information for you about how to access a quality education for your children at home. Please remember to check your child's class page under the 'Children' tab for regular updates from your classteacher. Please collect a paper pack if you cannot access technology. If you would like more information please phone the DFE coronavirus helpline 0800 046 8687 or visit the full government guidance at:https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19/guidance-to-educational-settings-about-covid-19
Thank you for your tremendous support and understanding in this matter, if anything positive can come out of this then it is the wonderful community spirit and offers of help that have been overwhelming.
What another beautiful weekend (weather wise)! Please note Year 2 that the previous sentence is a true exclamation sentence. We hope that you managed to enjoy some time out in the sun and got some exercise. It is lovely to see the pictures you send in of the things you have been doing. Stay safe and take care.
The Year 2 Team X
Please find the link below for the project mat for this week. We remain grateful to the Robin Hood Academy for sharing these projects.
The project this week considers animals, a topic that we know you will enjoy.
The BBC daily educational input is up and running. Below is a link which shows what they are providing and where.
Here is the link for the TTS booklet mentioned last week.
Wonderful Writing Task
Since the topic this week is animals we would like you to create an animal, that is, not a real animal but an imaginary one. Your task on Friday will to be to write a description of your animal. It might be a good idea to draw a few examples over the week and then decide which is your favourite.
Friday 1st May
Sorry I did not post yesterday, I meant to as soon as I got into school but then other things took over and I did not make it. In school we are making a flag, for Monday, to say thank you to all the people who are still working throughout lockdown and I must say it is looking good. I'm sure it will appear on Facebook soon. I am looking forward to seeing what animals you come up with in the Wonderful Writing task. I hope you have a good weekend. Take care. X
Wednesday 29th April
Hi, we hope you all well. If you are doing the Joe Wick's workout you will all be very fit by now. Did you know that the blue whale can produce the loudest sound of any animal. At 188 decibels, the noise can be detected over 800 kilometres away.
Tuesday 28th April
Good morning Year 2. It looks like it is going to be a dull, cloudy day at the moment. We hope you got on well with yesterday's challenge. We will hopefully follow up on this soon.
Happy Monday morning. Well done Holly S, you are smashing the maths sites leader board for Year 2. We think you are going to really like this week's topic.
Friday - Wonderful Writing
I really hope you have come up with some fantastic animals. Some of the children in school yesterday gave it a go and they were really imaginative. Good luck, don't forget punctuation, imaginative vocabulary and the different sentence types.
How many different ways can you find to make 32p.
Tuesday - English
From the following poem can you list the verbs, nouns and adjectives?
Hey diddle diddle,
The charming cat and the fiddle,
The pretty cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such fun,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
Monday - Research / Science
The challenge today is to find out: What is a food chain? Make a note of the technical vocabulary and what it means.
