WOW! What a busy first week back in school after lockdown!
We are all really happy to be back in Year 3 and we are settling back in nicely.
We have started our new English topic, which focuses on 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. We have read the first few chapters and have been able to draw and label our own interpretations of what we think the Iron Man looks like, along with generating some fabulous adverbs for some of the verbs we spotted in the first chapter.
In Maths, we are revisiting multiplication and division after we did them during remote learning. We are getting really good at them and are using the methods well.
In History, we have continued to focus on the Stone Age and the Bronze Age and have been looking at artefacts discovered and making guesses about what they are and what they may have been used for. In RE, we have continued our work on Holy Week and have used our artistic skills to create some beautiful crosses to display in class, based on all the emotions surrounding Holy Week. In PSHE, we talked about jobs and income and had to decide which jobs we thought should be the highest paid and why.
In other news, we have a new member of staff in Year 3, joining Miss Hindle and Mrs Townend. Mrs Starr is now working with us and we are so happy that she has joined our Year 3 family.
⭐Our Star of the Week is Dylan and our Role Model is Luca. Mr Smart's PE Star of the Week is Dylan. Well done!⭐
